About the MASALA-2G Study
What is the MASALA-2G Study? The MASALA-2G Study is the first study and program for second generation young South Asian Americans adults. The MASALA-2G Study will identify factors that contribute to heart health in this community.
MASALA-2G builds on the success of the MASALA Study of immigrant adults from South Asia that was started in 2010, and will enroll the adult children of participants from the original MASALA study.
Who is eligible to participate in the MASALA-2G Study?
Children of MASALA Study participants
Age 18+ years
Born in the US, and live in the Chicago area (or can visit Chicago)
What can MASALA-2G Study participants expect?
Fill out online questionnaires
One visit to the research clinic at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago for:
— Fasting blood tests
— Measurement of vital signs
— A set of questionnaires administered by the study team
— A heart CT scanCompensation for participation
How will I benefit?
Your test results and heart CT scan reports will be provided to you
